Configuring the Annualised Value

Overview

An Idea/Initiative Annualised Value is the planned or expected value that the Idea/Initiative is expected to deliver. See What do the terms used in an Idea/Initiative mean? for more detail.

Configuring the Annualised Value

The Annualised Value can be configured in one of two ways: (1) by using a VDT; or (2) by manually entering a value. The method used is set by switching the Benefit Calculation switch to the appropriate setting.

Using a VDT

When the Benefit Calculation switch is switched to Use VDT, you must create a VDT and enter values in the VDT Baseline View ensuring that the leftmost (output) node has calculated Improvement values.

If the Improvement field in the leftmost node does not have a value, review your KPI inputs and expressions to make sure that they compute.

The value calculated by the Improvement field in the leftmost node is your Annualised Value.

Entering values manually

When the Benefit Calculation switch is switched to Manual Capture, the Annualised benefit can be entered directly below the switch in the Annualised Value section.

Non-Financial Benefits

Annualised values for non-financial benefits can also be added to an Idea/Initiative. This is done in the same way as detailed above, either via a VDT or via Manual Capture.

When using a VDT, ensure that at least one parent node in the VDT is configured as a Non-Financial node by selecting a Non-Financial category in the Non-Financial Category field on the node settings.

When using Manual Capture, add a Non-Financial category in the Overview page and enter a value.
