The system provides email notification that users can subscribe to, you can subscribe to the actions email notifications through the user profile page as the logged-in user.
Click on the user icon (highlighted Red below.) > click on Profile > Under E-mail notifications you can (un)subscribe by (de)selecting an item, remember to click the Save button.

I.e. The user above has opted to be notified when an Action(s) he/ she owns or created is modified.
